What are the side effects of having cortisol pills regularly?

Recently I’ve heard some things about cortisol and I would like to ask whether taking cortisol through most of my lifetime might give me negative side effects.
FULL STORY
Ever since I was a kid I have had allergies, only then the allergic reactions were quite violent (respiratory reactions to dust mites) and the many doctors prescribed cortisol treatment during the reactions. Since then I’ve had it only when I have strong allergic reactions.
The med is called Celestamine NS which has loratadine and betametasone.
I have 18 years and I got my first reaction when I was 4; I am not sure when the prescription started, but I’ve been told that the first few times I had to use a respirator, or something like that, with cortisol.
I’ve tried milder medicine, but they don’t seem to work. I’ve tried alternative medicine, anti-histamine shots, and some other things. After all this time, I’ve discovered (as many advised me) that time has been my only true healer. The attacks have gone much milder through time, but I still use cortisol whenever my reaction doesn’t let me sleep or I’ve had it for quite some time (like half a week).
Thanks a lot for you help!
Sorry, it is not betametasone, it is betametHasone.
